1206F系列为7升排量的6缸中冷发动机,可配备单级涡轮增压器或串联双级涡轮增压器,加上轻质且尺寸紧凑的后处理组件,使这组装尺寸更紧凑的发动机可轻易取代较大排量的同类产品。此装置由柴油氧化催化装置(DOC) / 柴油颗粒滤清器 (DPF) 容器和选择性催化还原(SCR) 系统集成为一个综合组件,而这组件可以安装在机械的底座上,而不是在发动机内,也可直接安装在发动机的顶部。
